A NEW LIFE
Becoming A New Member
There are four ways to become a member of First Baptist Church Bracktown.
BAPTISM – Baptism is the total immersion of the believer in water as a symbol of your new life in Christ Jesus. We believe in baptism by immersion because Jesus was baptized by immersion (Matt. 3:13-17). A confession is required in keeping with Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.” Upon this confession, you will be baptized. Baptism is held every first Sunday at First Baptist Church Bracktown.
If you wish to join from another denomination to become a member, we also require that you are baptized into this fellowship. This baptism does not mean that you are not saved when you join. It is simply our means of adding to this fellowship from other denominations outside of the Missionary Baptist denomination.
LETTER – We accept members from other Missionary Baptist Churches via a Letter of Recommendation from the former Missionary Baptist Church to First Baptist Church Bracktown.
WATCHCARE – You can join First Baptist Church Bracktown as a temporary member from one Missionary Baptist Church to another that is located in another town or state (ex-student, someone working in Lexington temporally). You will be allowed to be active in the different ministries of the church.
KINSHIP – You can also join First Baptist Church Bracktown as a temporary member that is a courtesy to students or people who are going to be living in Lexington or surrounding areas for a short amount of time, who come from a church of a different denomination. You must agree that “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved Acts 4:12 (KJV). You will be allowed to be active in the different ministries.
